What Salag Is

Salag is a freelancer protection platform that helps Filipino and international freelancers handle difficult client situations through structured, professional communication. We are registered in the Philippines and operate under Philippine law.

What We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to run the service:

• Your account details: name, email address, and password (always stored in hashed, unreadable form). If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google profile name and email.
• Your business and client data: business name, invoice details, payment methods, and client contact information you choose to store in Salag.
• Your tool inputs: messages and project details you submit to Salag tools for analysis.
• Technical data: your IP address, browser type, and session information, used for security and to enforce usage limits.
• Analytics: anonymized, aggregate usage data via Google Analytics 4. We cannot identify you personally from this data.

What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
• We do not share your conversations publicly or with other users.
• We do not use your content for advertising or behavioral profiling.
• We do not train AI models on your private conversations.
• We do not track your activity across other websites.

Your Client Messages

When you submit a client message to a Salag tool, we send it to OpenAI (United States) to generate a response. This is the only way the tool works. That content:

• Is used only to generate the output you requested.
• Is not visible to other Salag users.
• Belongs to you. We claim no ownership over it.

Who We Share Data With

We share data only with service providers that help us run Salag. These include:

• Vercel (United States): our web hosting platform.
• OpenAI (United States): AI processing for Pro tool outputs.
• Google (United States): sign-in authentication and aggregate analytics.
• Brevo (France): transactional and marketing emails.
• Cloud database provider (United States): secure storage of your account and application data.

All providers are required to process your data only for the purposes we direct. Because some are based outside the Philippines, this constitutes a cross-border transfer under the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

How Long We Keep Your Data

• Account data: kept while your account is active.
• Invoice records: kept for a minimum of 5 years as required by Philippine law.
• Uploaded files: deleted automatically after 30 to 180 days, depending on your plan.
• Security logs: kept for up to 12 months.
• After account deletion: most personal data is removed within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.

Your Rights Under Philippine Law

Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, you have the right to:

• Know what data we collect and why.
• Access a copy of your personal data.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Object to certain types of processing.
• Port your data in a readable format.
• File a complaint with the National Privacy Commission at www.privacy.gov.ph.

Account Rules

Leaving Salag

You can cancel your subscription and delete your account at any time from your account settings. There is no lock-in, no cancellation fee, and no pressure. Upon deletion, most of your personal data is removed within 30 days.
