The Voluntary Foundations

You work from home, so no HR deducts these for you. If you stop paying, you lose your safety net. You must register as a Voluntary Member.

SSS (Social Security System)

The most versatile safety net. Covers sickness (cash allowance), maternity, disability, and retirement pension.

Cost: ~14% of Monthly Salary Credit (MSC).
Example: earning ₱20k/mo → Pay ~₱2,800/mo.
Deadline: Last day of the following month.
Example: Pay Jan dues by Feb 28.

PhilHealth (Medical)

Subsidizes hospital bills. CRITICAL: You cannot use this if you have missed payments prior to hospitalization.

Cost: 5% of Basic Monthly Income.
Floor: ₱500/mo. Ceiling: ₱5,000/mo.
Deadline: Last working day of the applicable month (or quarter).

Pag-IBIG (Housing)

Offers housing loans and the high-yield MP2 Savings program (tax-free dividends).

Cost: Minimum ₱200/mo.
Recommended: Pay more to increase savings.
Deadline: 10th day of the following month.
